Terms of service

These terms govern your use of NearPlug, a marketplace that lets electric-vehicle drivers (“Drivers”) book time at private charging points offered by independent hosts (“Hosts”). By messaging NearPlug on WhatsApp you agree to them.

1. What NearPlug does

NearPlug provides booking, verification and payment coordination. Hosts own and operate their charging points; NearPlug does not supply electricity and is not the owner of any spot.

2. Bookings and pricing

• Sessions are sold as fixed time blocks (for example, a 60-minute Quick Boost on a 16A socket costs ₹99). The price is shown before you pay and includes NearPlug’s booking fee.
• A session starts when the Host enters the Driver’s one-time start code (OTP) and ends when the time block elapses.
• Energy delivered depends on the charger and vehicle; NearPlug does not guarantee a specific amount.

3. Payments, payouts and refunds

• Payments are processed by our payment partner. The Host’s share is paid out after the session.
• If no Host accepts a paid booking, the Driver receives a full refund.
• If a Driver cancels after a Host has accepted, or does not start the session within the arrival window, the Host receives a ₹50 lockout fee and the remainder is refunded.
• If power is interrupted during a session, both parties are settled in proportion to the time used.
• If a Host is not available when the Driver arrives, the Driver receives a full refund.
• Refunds are returned to the original payment method, typically within 5–7 working days.

4. Driver responsibilities

• Use only a vehicle you are entitled to use, registered to your NearPlug account and electric.
• Use a compatible, undamaged charging cable; follow the Host’s gate and parking instructions.
• Unplug and vacate the spot promptly when the session ends.

5. Host responsibilities

• Offer only sockets and wiring that are safe, earthed and suitable for continuous EV charging load.
• Describe the spot accurately and respond to requests promptly; repeated missed bookings may lead to delisting.
• You are responsible for any taxes due on your earnings.

6. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, NearPlug is not liable for damage to vehicles, property or persons arising from a charging session, which is a matter between the Driver and the Host. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.
